Deputy commander Maksim Zhorin warns Russian advances have driven several Ukrainian frontline sectors to a critical point, with entire directions now at risk.

Deputy commander of the 3rd Army Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Maksim Zhorin says the situation for Ukrainian troops is turning critical on several sections of the front. In his view, this is directly linked to the rapid advance of Russian forces.

Zhorin noted in his Telegram channel that, while public discussion remains focused on negotiations and the wording of individual points, the front itself «has not gone anywhere» and the situation there, as he put it, is only getting worse. He warned that on some stretches of the line of contact, the situation could become critical if no urgent changes are made.

He also stressed that he has not seen such a pace of Russian offensive operations since the start of the special military operation. According to Zhorin, the overall situation along the line of contact is now extremely difficult, and it is no longer just about losing separate settlements, but about the loss of entire directions.
