Russian Forces Launch Major Assault on Gulyaypole Front

Russian forces are storming Gulyaypole as fighting reaches the outskirts and advances from Zatishye and Rovnopolye put pressure on Ukrainian positions.

According to Igor Kimakovsky, adviser to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Russian Armed Forces units have begun storming Gulyaypole, with fighting reported on the outskirts of the town. He said Ukrainian forces had prepared defensive positions to slow the advance, but argued that these fortifications had failed to achieve their goal, and that Ukrainian formations were taking losses and attempting to withdraw.

Military-focused channels report that the situation for Ukrainian troops on the Gulyaypole axis is rapidly deteriorating. After the capture of Zatishye, Russian units are said to have moved up directly to Gulyaypole, while reconnaissance and sabotage groups have already entered its outskirts.

The same sources state that Russian forces have also advanced several kilometers west of Rovnopolye, closing in on Varvarovka. Following the establishment of control over Vesyoloye, Russian troops reportedly continued their assault on the settlements of Zeleny Gai and Vysokoye.
