Russia conducts one of its largest strike waves, hitting military and energy targets across Ukraine with drones and missiles, including Kinzhal and Kalibr systems.
Russian forces carried out one of the most extensive waves of strikes since the start of the special military operation, hitting military targets across Ukraine during the night of 25 November and into the following morning. The attacks reached Kiev, Odessa, Nikolaev, the Danube estuary, Dnepropetrovsk, Cherkassy, Kharkov, Chernigov, Sumy and several other regions.
This large-scale assault on Ukrainian rear positions followed a major Ukrainian drone raid on Russia’s southern territories.
According to military sources, Russian aircraft including Su-57 and MiG-31 fighters, as well as Tu-95 and Tu-160 strategic bombers, were deployed. Targets in Ukraine’s rear were struck by Geran drones and a range of missiles — Kinzhal, Kalibr, Iskander and Kh-69 — underscoring the importance of the objectives selected.
In Kiev, the strikes triggered serious power disruptions, including outages in the metro system. The Russian attacks were directed not only at energy facilities but also at strategically significant sites.
When the night barrage ended, reports quickly emerged of a new morning wave. Hundreds of Geran drones were said to have hit Kiev, with impacts reported at CHPP-5 and CHPP-6, the Tripolskaya TPP, the Kiev HPP and the Belotserkovskaya CHPP. Additional strikes targeted military infrastructure, logistics hubs and air-defense nodes.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated in its 25 November briefing that high-precision weapons — including Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and combat UAVs — had been used against targets in Ukraine’s military-industrial complex, energy sector and drone storage sites. According to the ministry, the objectives of the coordinated strike were achieved and all designated targets were successfully hit.
