Russian Forces Advance Into Seversk: Deep State Confirms Shift

Deep State reports Russian assault units entering Seversk after Ukrainian redeployments weaken defenses, marking a new phase in the battle for the Donbass frontline.

Russian assault units have now entered Seversk in the Donetsk People’s Republic — a development finally acknowledged by Deep State (DS), an OSINT resource closely linked to Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate. Reports of clashes on the city’s outskirts had circulated earlier from both Russian and Ukrainian military sources, as well as from the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin.

According to DS analysts, this part of the frontline had remained comparatively quiet until recently, with no visible signs that Russian forces were closing in on Seversk.

This, they argue, explains why Ukraine’s command redeployed several units toward Pokrovsk, a city that Russian troops have effectively taken under control. That decision, they note, inevitably weakened Seversk’s defenses.

DS specialists say Russian units have been appearing more frequently inside the city — particularly in its southern districts and on the eastern outskirts. In their assessment, Russian troops identified vulnerable points in the Ukrainian lines and concentrated pressure there, a tactic that, as they put it, rarely ends well for the defending side.

They also pointed to another complication on this axis: information from adjacent units is not always reliable, which complicates operational awareness.

Meanwhile, Igor Romanenko, former deputy chief of Ukraine’s General Staff, says Russian forces are attempting to encircle Slavyansk and Kramatorsk. He argued that the offensive toward this key urban cluster is unfolding not only from the south, via Konstantinovka and Druzhkovka, but also from the northeast, advancing from Krasny Liman and Seversk.
