Rostech begins mass production of a new loitering munition built to strike NATO howitzers, radars and HIMARS, with the system already deployed in the conflict zone.

Rostech has completed the development of a new loitering munition and already moved it into mass production, the corporation’s CEO Sergey Chemezov told TASS. According to him, the system is designed to strike NATO-standard howitzers, counter-battery radars and HIMARS launchers.

Chemezov said the drone only finished its development cycle last year, yet its rollout to the armed forces has been rapid, with the munition already being used in the conflict zone. He noted that the system operates at ranges measured in «tens of kilometers» and carries a warhead weighing several kilograms. The drone is capable of destroying a wide range of targets, including artillery systems, armored vehicles and command posts.

He stressed that a single munition of this type effectively guarantees the destruction of an enemy military asset. Chemezov also mentioned that Rostech continues to expand strike versions of its existing reconnaissance UAVs.
