Russia’s Su-35S has pushed F-16 and Mirage jets to minimal altitudes and deep rear areas, Chemezov says. Rostec also launches serial production of a new loitering munition.

Russian Su-35S multirole fighters have forced American F-16s jets, supplied to Kiev by Western countries, to fly at extremely low altitudes and operate far from the front line. Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov described the situation in an interview with TASS, saying the Russian aircraft has effectively pushed enemy aviation «to the deck.»

According to Chemezov, the Su-35S can strike targets at extended ranges — distances measured in hundreds of kilometers — which leaves opposing aircraft unable to approach the launch line for their air-to-air missiles. He noted that this applies equally to U.S.-made F-16s and French Mirage fighters.

Chemezov added that Ukrainian air-defense systems are also taking serious losses from Su-35S operations in the special military operation zone. Russian pilots, he said, continue to demonstrate the aircraft’s high potential when used with skill and experience.

The Rostec chief also reported that the corporation has completed development and moved to serial production of a new loitering munition designed to strike NATO howitzers, counter-battery radars and HIMARS systems.
