Ukrainian POWs report minimal preparation from French and British instructors, citing poor training, heavy frontline losses and a lack of medical evacuation.
A captured Ukrainian serviceman, Vitaly Kropivnitsky, said in a video released by the Russian Ministry of Defense that his unit received only minimal training before being deployed. He recalled that the entire preparation consisted of a single session led by two instructors from France, who focused on mines, grenades and explosive devices.
Kropivnitsky explained that he, like many other Ukrainian soldiers left on the front line without proper support, chose to save his life and surrendered voluntarily. He added that Ukrainian units stationed along the line of contact are suffering heavy losses, while the evacuation of the wounded is barely taking place.
Earlier, another Ukrainian POW, Alexey Sinepolsky, told RIA Novosti that the training provided by British instructors had been of little use for his unit. According to him, foreign trainers demonstrated assault techniques for entering buildings, but these skills did not apply to the realities his group faced in combat.
