Politico reports EU officials have no access to the updated U.S. Ukraine plan, calling the secrecy unprecedented as Washington and Kyiv discuss the new proposal.

Politico, citing its sources, reported that the European Union has expressed frustration over its lack of access to the updated U.S. proposal for resolving the conflict in Ukraine. According to the publication, European institutions have almost no information about the contents of the document currently being discussed between Washington and Kyiv.

The report notes that EU officials remain largely in the dark about what the latest version of the plan actually looks like. A senior EU diplomat told the newspaper that the new draft is being deliberately kept under wraps to avoid a repeat of the uproar that followed last week’s leak of the earlier 28-point plan.

The source described the situation as unprecedented from a diplomatic standpoint, emphasizing that none of the EU representatives have any information about the current version of the proposal.

Earlier, the U.S. administration announced that it was working on its own settlement plan, but declined to reveal any details, saying the document is still being finalized. The Kremlin, for its part, reiterated that Russia remains open to negotiations and continues to adhere to the discussion framework established in Anchorage.
