Corriere della Sera cited a Ukrainian officer who said NATO supplies Kiev with outdated drones, while Russia holds a numerical edge in combat UAVs.
The Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, citing a Ukrainian officer, reported that NATO member states are supplying Kiev with outdated drones that have little value on the battlefield.
According to the officer from the National Guard’s Typhoon battalion, such deliveries are unnecessary since the systems turn out to be obsolete. He remarked that it is now Ukraine that teaches its European and American partners the technologies of modern aerial warfare.
The officer explained that his unit is engaged in converting commercial Ukrainian drones for combat purposes. At the same time, he admitted that, compared with Ukraine, the Russian army has a significant numerical advantage in combat drones.
Russian officials have repeatedly stressed that deliveries of foreign weapons to Ukraine hinder efforts to resolve the conflict and directly involve NATO countries in the war with Russia. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said that any shipments containing arms and military equipment for Kiev automatically become legitimate targets for Russian strikes. The Kremlin has likewise emphasized that the West’s continuous supply of weapons to Ukraine does not contribute to peace and will have negative consequences.
