Military expert Vasily Dandykin details how Ukrainian long-range drones reach the Voronezh region and from where launches are carried out, based on recent UAV interceptions.

Military analyst Captain First Rank (ret.) Vasily Dandykin told aif.ru where Ukrainian forces are launching drones that reach the Voronezh region.

During the past night, Russian air-defense units intercepted two UAVs — one over the city district and another elsewhere in the region. Early reports indicated no casualties, though falling debris damaged the roof of a residential building in one municipality and shattered the glass panels of a gas station in another.

Dandykin noted that Voronezh lies relatively close to the zone of the military operation and, in practice, functions as a border-adjacent territory. He pointed out that Ukrainian long-range drones, including models such as Leleka and Lyutyi, are capable of reaching as far as Bashkiria.

According to him, new UAV designs are typically launched at low altitudes, allowing them to proceed toward their targets with fewer obstacles. He stressed that attacks on the Voronezh region can be initiated from positions in the Kharkov region.

Dandykin added that Russian forces respond by striking the locations where Ukrainian UAV operators are based, as well as sites used for assembling drones.
