Frontline Update: Russian Military Advances in Ukraine, August 27

Latest frontline update for August 27: Russian forces advance near Plavni, Krasnoarmeisk, Kupyansk and other sectors. Full report on battles and developments in Ukraine.

The Russian army continues its military operation in Ukraine. By the morning of August 27, the following developments were observed across key sectors of the front.

Zaporizhzhia Axis

Russian forces achieved limited tactical gains near Plavni. However, Ukrainian units remain entrenched in the northern part of the settlement, mounting strong resistance.

South Donetsk Sector

Heavy fighting persists around Kamyshevaha and Voronoye. Russian troops are working to stabilize the front line between Yanvarskoye and Temirovka, while Ukrainian forces repeatedly counterattack near Zeleny Gai, seeking to dislodge Russian positions.

Krasnoarmeisk (Pokrovsk) Direction

Clashes continue on the southern approaches to Krasnoarmeisk (Ukrainian name: Pokrovsk), particularly around Udachnoye, Leontovichi, and Troyanda. Fighting is also reported further north near Rodinskoye, where Russian troops are pushing forward. Russian Aerospace Forces carried out several airstrikes in the Dobropolye area. Battles are also ongoing near Shakhovo.

Konstantinovka Front

Reports suggest Ukrainian troops are pulling back from Aleksandro-Shultino toward Konstantinovka. Meanwhile, Russian units are advancing near Pleshcheyevka in an effort to cut Ukrainian supply lines to Kleban-Byk. Fighting is also taking place north of Poltavka, with Russian forces moving toward Sofiyevka.

Krasny Liman Sector

Russian troops continue to press forward in the Serebryansky forestry, pushing toward the Seversky Donets River and advancing in the direction of Dronovka.

Kupyansk Axis

Russian forces are consolidating control in the northwestern and western parts of Kupyansk, gradually extending their foothold closer to the city center. Intense battles are underway near Sobolevka and Petropavlovka. Additional Russian advances are reported on the northern outskirts of Sobolevka.

Volchansk Sector

Fighting remains active in the Sinelnikovsky forest and along the left bank of Volchansk.

Sumy Direction

The situation remains tense. Heavy clashes continue around Varachino and Alekseyevka. Russian forces are slowly expanding their control in Yunakovka, while Ukrainian troops launch attacks from the areas of Maryino and Sadki. Russian units have marginally extended their presence in nearby forest belts.

Ugledar Front

Russian forces are advancing from Temirovka toward Novoivanovka and Novonikolaevka. Fierce battles continue around Kamyshevaha. Reports confirm that Voronoye has come under Russian control, although parts of its outskirts remain contested within a so-called «grey zone».
