Russian Forces Capture Pervoye Maya Near Krasnoarmeisk

The Russian Defense Ministry reports control over Pervoye Maya in Donetsk. The settlement near Krasnoarmeisk is a key point on the route to Dnepropetrovsk region.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported in its daily briefing that the settlement of Pervoye Maya in the Donetsk People’s Republic has come under the control of Russian forces. The operation involved units of the «Center» military grouping.

Pervoye Maya (known in Ukrainian as Pershe Travnya) lies on the southwestern approaches to Krasnoarmeisk (Ukrainian name — Pokrovsk). The settlement is considered a key point near the highway linking Krasnoarmeisk with the Dnepropetrovsk region and the northern areas of the DPR.

During the height of the fighting in 2024, Ukrainian authorities announced the renaming of Pershe Travnya to Leontovichi.

This latest advance follows earlier gains in the sector. On August 24, Russian troops from the «Central» grouping secured control over the settlement of Filiya in the Dnepropetrovsk region. A day before, the Defense Ministry had reported the capture of Kleban-Byk and Srednee in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
