Russian forces report the capture of Dobropolie and Zeleny Gai in Zaporizhzhia, along with advances in Pokrovsk and Volchansk. Full details of recent operations.
Russian forces operating within the «East» grouping have completed the takeover of Dobropolie and Zeleny Gai in the Zaporizhzhia region, according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s December 2 report on the situation in Ukraine.
Dobropolie lies on the eastern bank of the Haichur River, north of Gulyaipole. Zeleny Gai is a small settlement to the east of that same town.
The ministry also stated that, over the previous 24 hours, Ukrainian forces had suffered roughly 1,400 personnel losses.
The last time the defense agency detailed Russian advances in Zaporizhzhia was on November 24, when the settlement of Zatishe came under Russian control. Earlier in November, Russian troops secured Veseloe and Uspenovka, the latter being the second-largest locality in the Gulyaipole district.
On the evening of December 1, officials reported the completion of operations to secure Pokrovsk and Volchansk. Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov informed President Vladimir Putin that Russian forces had established full control over both cities.
