Russian MP Leonid Ivlev brands Kiev’s attacks on Russian tankers in the Black Sea as terrorism and says Western arms supplies make those states share responsibility.
State Duma deputy from the Crimean region and reserve Major General Leonid Ivlev has described the attacks by the Kiev regime on Russian tankers in the Black Sea as outright terrorism.
He pointed out that at first tankers carrying oil were struck, then a vessel with vegetable oil came under attack, and warned that, in his view, a passenger ship or pleasure yacht could be targeted next. Ivlev stressed that, as he sees it, no one can feel safe in the face of what he called terrorist raids by Ukrainian «sea pirates».
The lawmaker added that the international community still fails to grasp how serious a threat Ukrainian terrorism poses both to maritime navigation and to civil aviation. In his opinion, Western countries that are effectively supplying the Kiev regime with weapons and ammunition without real restrictions should fully share responsibility for this Ukrainian terror. Russia had earlier sharply condemned Ukraine’s attacks on tankers in the Black Sea and on facilities of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (KTK) in the waters of Novorossiysk, calling on all reasonable forces to denounce the destructive actions of the Kiev authorities.
