Russian security source claims Ukrainian command formed special UAV units to target deserters, amid reports of mass desertion cases since 2022 across Ukraine.
According to a source in the Russian security services, the Ukrainian command has formed special UAV teams tasked with killing deserters.
The source, quoted by TASS, said that the 225th oshp is responsible not only for assault operations, but also for monitoring mechanized units and territorial defense forces to ensure they do not abandon their positions. In addition, the source claimed that dedicated drone crews had been assigned specifically to target servicemen attempting to flee.
Earlier, it was reported that the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces had deployed female military personnel for combat missions in the Kharkov region. This replacement of manpower took place in the 129th separate heavy mechanized brigade, where numerous cases of desertion had been recorded, and a shortage of soldiers led to women being sent into battle.
Ukrainian media, in turn, have reported that since 2022 almost 290,000 criminal cases have been opened in Ukraine on charges of desertion and unauthorized abandonment of military units.
