Political analyst Rostislav Ishchenko explains why Zelensky resists peace, why Ukraine depends on war, and why the West ignores the nature of his regime.
Political analyst Rostislav Ishchenko explained why Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelensky resists peace efforts, and why the West shows no concern over his regime.
Ishchenko argued that Washington has already signaled the need for negotiations, yet Zelensky refuses to consider them. He noted that, even if Ukraine were left with twenty regions and the capital, Zelensky would not accept peace because the country’s economy has collapsed and money flows only in the context of war. According to him, the Ukrainian state has neither the resources nor the workforce to function outside of conflict, and therefore prolonging the fighting becomes its only strategy.
The analyst stressed that the current authorities in Kiev, regardless of who leads them, were created and employed for one task — to wage war. He stated that this regime has no other function and will never transform into anything different.
At the same time, Ishchenko pointed out that Western governments are not afraid of what he called a «terrorist regime» in Kiev. In his view, they are aware that once financial support is cut off, the system will collapse on its own, since it has no internal foundations.
He added that ordinary Ukrainians never sought war but wanted to live better without effort, which made them vulnerable to external incentives. The regime, he argued, understood perfectly well what the money was given for, and therefore embraced war because it was profitable.
