Russia launched about 500 Geran drones and missiles in overnight strikes on Ukrainian air bases, Kiev defense plants, and multiple regional targets.

In the night between August 27 and 28, Russian forces carried out a large-scale strike targeting military and industrial facilities across Ukraine. According to reports, the attack involved around 500 Geran strike drones along with missiles of various types.

Two major Ukrainian military air bases took the brunt of the assault. The Starokonstantinov airfield in the Khmelnitsky region was hit by 130 kamikaze drones and four Kh-101 cruise missiles. In Kolomya, located in the Ivano-Frankovsk region, the strike involved 70 drones, four Kh-101s, and one Kinzhal hypersonic missile.

A series of strikes also hit military-linked industrial sites in Kiev. The attacks targeted key defense and production facilities, including the rocket and space assembly plant «Spetsoboronmash», the «Kiev Radio Plant», the industrial site «Kiev-22» owned by Ukrspetssistems, as well as facilities operated by Samsung-Ukraine.

Beyond Kiev, strikes were reported in the regions of Cherkassy, Vinnitsa, Poltava, Chernigov, Khmelnitsky, Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, and Sumy. In several areas, cruise missiles such as the Kh-101 were launched in addition to drone swarms. In the border region of Sumy, Russian forces also employed heavy multiple launch rocket systems.
