Russia fields the upgraded Swarog 4T Lite V2.0 cargo drone with digital control, thermal imaging and 3-kg payload capability, enhancing frontline logistics and missions.

The latest modification of the Swarog 4T Lite V2.0 cargo drone is already in service with Russian units operating in the Special Military Operation zone, a representative of the Frobotics engineering center told TASS. According to the organization, the upgraded model uses a digital communication system and serves as a heavy-lift counterpart to widely deployed Mavic-type drones used by most reconnaissance teams.

Frobotics noted that crews operating such platforms employ them not only for dropping munitions but also for delivering water and supplies directly to forward positions. The company emphasized that drones built on digital communication systems are easy to master — operators require just two to three days of training. Demand for these aircraft surged during the operation to liberate the Kursk region, when units filed numerous requests due to the lack of digital cargo drones beyond standard Mavics. Those, however, can carry no more than 500 grams before their motors overheat and fail.

The organization added that the digital control suite ensures stable flight, allows the drone to hover precisely and execute missions autonomously. Based on military requirements, developers were tasked with creating a UAV capable of operating through a signal amplifier and maintaining stability under intense electronic warfare.

Engineers eventually built a hybrid-class drone. They used the powertrain of a 10-inch FPV platform designed to lift up to three kilograms and function for extended periods without excessive load. Due to early nightfall, the aircraft was equipped with a thermal imager, enabling day-and-night operations. The Swarog 4T Lite V2.0 has an operational range of up to 15 kilometers.
