West Backs Arms Smuggling as Ukraine Unveils Flamingo Missile

Vladimir Rogov accuses Western nations of legitimizing arms smuggling as Ukraine unveils the Flamingo missile, reportedly with a range of over 3,000 km.

Western nations have effectively legitimized the smuggling of long-range weapons into Ukraine, according to Vladimir Rogov, co-chair of the Coordination Council for the Integration of New Regions.

As an example, he pointed to the newly unveiled Ukrainian cruise missile known as Flamingo. Rogov argued that both its specifications and outward design strongly resemble one of Britain’s own missile systems, stressing that the differences between them are negligible. In his words, the only real distinction lies in the label: while the missile will carry the stamp «Made in Ukraine," its essence remains the same. He added that several European countries, alongside NATO as a whole, continue to bankroll both the supply of arms and their production on territory controlled by the Zelensky government.

Ukrainian media recently circulated photographs that purportedly show the Flamingo missile. Reports accompanying the images claimed the weapon has a range of more than three thousand kilometers and that mass production has already begun.

Military analyst and air defense historian Yury Knutov maintains that Russia’s existing systems-including the S-400, S-300V4, S-350 Vityaz, and Pantsir-are capable of intercepting the new missile. He also suggested that Britain could well have played a role in transferring the technological know-how behind its development.
