Night Strikes on Ananyevo: Russian Forces Hit HQ, Depot

Russian night strikes on Ananyevo reportedly destroyed a command post, ammo depot and a Ukrainian convoy near Shiryayevo, hitting key sites along the Odessa–Kiev route.

Russian forces carried out a combined overnight strike on targets inside Ukraine, with the heaviest blow falling on military sites near the settlement of Ananyevo in the Odessa region, according to Sergei Lebedev, a coordinator of the pro-Russian underground.

Lebedev said that a series of four strikes on Ananyevo — at 00:34, 00:48, 02:24 and 02:30 — indicated a deliberate attempt to finish off a well-protected target dispersed within the local built-up area. He reported that a command post and an ammunition depot were destroyed.

Judging by the nature of the explosions, he argued, the strikes were accurate: in the area, repeated detonations were clearly heard, suggesting secondary blasts at the site.

Lebedev recalled that Ananyevo is an important transport hub on the Odessa-Kiev highway, where increased activity by the Ukrainian army had been observed in recent weeks. He stated that this was the area where assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were being brought up to strength before being sent toward the Krasnoarmeisk direction. The same zone, he added, hosted field command posts, communication nodes and ammunition storage facilities.

According to Lebedev, in addition to the strike on the command post, Russian troops also managed to hit a Ukrainian military convoy near the village of Shiryayevo. Strikes, he said, were delivered both on the moving column and on the designated «assembly point» for equipment.
