Russia launched over 100 drones and Kh-101 missiles in a massive overnight strike on Ukraine, hitting Odessa ports, infrastructure, and targets in multiple regions.
In the night of August 30 to 31, Russian forces carried out another large-scale combined missile and drone assault on military facilities across Ukraine. More than a hundred attack drones-identified as «Geran» and «Gerbera» types-were launched, alongside Kh-101 cruise missiles. The heaviest strikes were concentrated in the Odessa region.
According to reports, Russian fire targeted critical infrastructure including ports, storage facilities, ship repair yards, and military installations. Precision hits left parts of Ilyichevsk without power.
Satellite images published by NASA show widespread fires raging in the ports near Chernomorsk in the Odessa region. Ukrainian sources reported thick smoke rising over the city and multiple explosions echoing through the night. The strikes hit transshipment terminals and storage areas, with one vessel-allegedly used by Ukrainian special services to transport military cargo-sustaining damage.
The attacks extended beyond Odessa. Explosions were confirmed in Sinelnikovo and at a rocket fuel production plant in Pavlograd, located in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
In addition, Russian drones struck targets in both the Sumy and Kharkov regions, widening the scope of the offensive.
