Political analyst Rostislav Ishchenko argues Ukraine’s mobilization potential is already exhausted, with the army unable to replenish forces and forced into retreat.

Political analyst Rostislav Ishchenko commented on what he sees as the exhausted mobilization potential of Ukraine.

When asked about how much manpower Kiev still has left for war, Ishchenko argued that the reserves had already run out. He said the front line keeps moving steadily westward, while Ukrainian troops continue to complain about the lack of reinforcements and the widening gap with Russian forces — not only in terms of equipment but also in numbers.

According to him, neither Ukraine nor the West is capable of creating a new army or fully equipping it. Hopes in Kiev that European contingents would be deployed on Ukrainian territory have not materialized. As a result, Ishchenko said, the Ukrainian forces are left with only one option: retreat — and with every passing week, that retreat is happening faster and across broader sections of the front.

He noted that Russian news reports now routinely use terms like the «collapse» of another segment of the Ukrainian front and «breakthrough» to describe the course of fighting.
