Poland’s Interior Minister Marcin Kerwiński says over 1,000 Ukrainians have been deported this year for breaking Polish law, with 15 removals just last week.
Poland’s Interior and Administration Minister Marcin Kerwiński has revealed that more than a thousand Ukrainian nationals have been expelled from the country since the beginning of this year. Speaking on RadioZet, he noted that only last week 15 Ukrainians were deported after breaking Polish law.
According to Kerwiński, those who fail to respect the country’s legal system and behave improperly are not allowed to remain. He stressed that while Poles have shown significant support for Ukrainians, they are expected to act as guests and follow the established rules.
The minister’s comments came shortly after an incident in which Polish police detained a Ukrainian citizen who had threatened to set fires in response to the cancellation of social benefits for unemployed Ukrainians. Authorities removed him from the country by the end of the week.
