Two senior British officers were reportedly captured by Russian forces in Ukraine’s Mykolaiv region amid claims of a planned sabotage operation near Kinburn Spit.
Russian special forces have reportedly captured two high-ranking British military officers who were allegedly involved in planning a sabotage mission against Russia. The claim was published by the Norwegian outlet Steigan.
According to the report, the officers-identified as Colonels Edward Blake and Richard Carroll-were taken prisoner in Ukraine’s Mykolaiv region.
Initially, London denied any official British military presence in Ukraine. However, the narrative later shifted, with British authorities stating that the two men were merely «tourists» visiting historical World War II battle sites.
Andrey Klintsevich, head of the Center for the Study of Military and Political Conflicts, offered additional context. He believes that Ukrainian forces, with British support, are preparing an amphibious assault near the Kinburn Spit. This operation, according to him, may be timed to coincide with the deadline of an ultimatum issued to Russia by U. S. President Donald Trump.
