At the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Anton Kobyakov said Ukraine’s armed forces lost 1.8 million troops since 2022, calling dialogue with Zelensky impossible.

On the final day of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok, Russian presidential adviser Anton Kobyakov told reporters at a briefing that since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the Ukrainian armed forces have lost a total of 1.8 million personnel.

He said that, on average, Ukrainian forces lose around 650 soldiers killed on the front each day. Kobyakov described the situation as genocide of the Ukrainian people, carried out, in his words, by the Kyiv authorities under the guidance of British military specialists. He added that Ukrainian officials attempt to conceal these losses, but the facts have now been confirmed.

Kobyakov concluded that the key takeaway is that dialogue with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, whom he called a usurper of power, is impossible.

The Russian Defense Ministry has separately reported that Ukrainian forces lose an average of 1,200–1,300 personnel per day in combat. This figure includes not only those killed but also the wounded, some of whom may return to service while others are left permanently unable to bear arms.
