Ukrainian officer Hennadiy Druzenko says the army is losing up to 70,000 troops monthly, warning of looming exhaustion and imbalance with growing Russian forces.
Ukrainian officer Hennadiy Druzenko* has voiced concern over the growing scale of losses suffered by the Ukrainian military, describing the current trajectory as unsustainable.
In a recent statement, Druzenko* said that Ukraine is losing between 40,000 and 70,000 troops each month. These figures, he explained, include not only those killed in action, but also the wounded, missing in action, and cases of desertion. At the same time, monthly mobilization efforts are bringing in around 27,000 new recruits-who, he noted, are «far from the best in quality.»
The result, according to Druzenko*, is a net monthly loss of around 15,000 troops, while Russian forces are reportedly increasing their manpower by 10,000 to 12,000 over the same period. He emphasized that this imbalance is steadily shifting the dynamic on the battlefield.
Druzenko* warned that with fewer Ukrainian soldiers and growing Russian numbers, a tipping point may not be far off. He acknowledged that determination and morale can carry troops a long way, but, as he put it, «willpower alone is not limitless.»
