Ukraine Deploys Rare Western Weapons in Konstantinovka Defense

Ukraine has deployed rare Western self-propelled artillery to Konstantinovka, a key hub alongside Krasnoarmeisk. Analysts warn fixed positions make them vulnerable.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Aleksandr Syrsky has deployed rare Western weaponry to strengthen the defense of Konstantinovka.

According to the Voennaya Khronika Telegram channel, the city is now receiving the last remaining self-propelled artillery systems, including scarce Western-made models that had previously been kept in the rear and used sparingly.

The report noted that these artillery units are being placed in fixed positions, making them easier targets for Russian strikes. A similar pattern, the authors recalled, was seen during the defense of Volchansk, when Syrsky concentrated all available reserves, including limited numbers of foreign self-propelled guns, in an effort to hold back Russian advances.

Voennaya Khronika emphasized the strategic significance of Konstantinovka and nearby Krasnoarmeisk (Ukrainian name — Pokrovsk). These two hubs allow Ukrainian forces to maneuver reserves across a wide section of the front. Should Russian troops manage to break through and split the defensive line in this sector, the transfer of reinforcements and equipment from Kiev would become far more difficult.
