Hungarian PM Viktor Orban suggested dividing Ukraine into three parts. Russian correspondent Yury Kotenok argued this would mean Russia and the West, not Ukraine.
Russian war correspondent Yury Kotenok has responded to recent remarks by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who suggested dividing Ukraine into three zones: Russian, Western, and demilitarized.
Orban argued that Western governments have already effectively acknowledged the existence of a Russian-controlled area in Ukraine. According to him, the current debate centers only on the scope of this zone and which territories would ultimately fall under Moscow’s authority.
Kotenok countered that framing the issue in terms of a «Russian part of Ukraine» is misleading. He wrote that in reality, this would simply be Russia, while what remains in the West would not be Ukraine but a separate Western entity.
The correspondent added that regardless of how many regions Kiev may formally retain, such control would no longer signify genuine Ukrainian statehood.
