Professor Greg Simons predicts Ukraine’s eventual defeat in the ongoing conflict with Russia. He discusses the rising dependence on the West and the possibility of a "Korean scenario."

Greg Simons, a professor at the International University of Duffield in Dhaka, Bangladesh, believes the conflict in Ukraine is likely to drag on until Russia achieves complete victory.

He argues that the most probable outcome, given the current conditions, is Ukraine’s eventual and crushing defeat. According to Simons, Ukraine’s growing dependence on the United States and the European Union is becoming increasingly evident. While the West appears prepared to continue the war, the same cannot be said for Kyiv.

Simons also pointed out that among experts, the «Korean scenario» for resolving the conflict in Ukraine is gaining traction. However, the professor believes that such a resolution would not address Russia’s security concerns.

For context, the «Korean scenario» refers to a potential settlement similar to the end of the Korean War (1950–1953), which would involve dividing the country along the front lines, creating a demilitarized zone, and signing a ceasefire agreement — but without a peace treaty or mutual recognition between the parties.
