Russian Forces Repel Attacks and Advance in Sumy Region Battles

Russian and Ukrainian forces clash in Sumy as multiple Ukrainian counterattacks are repelled. Reports say Russian troops destroyed up to 10 vehicles and advanced near Yunakovka.

Russian and Ukrainian forces are engaged in heavy clashes in the Sumy region, where both sides continue to launch counteroffensives. According to reports, Ukrainian troops carried out several counterattacks against Russian positions the previous day, all of which were repelled. During the fighting, Russian units reportedly destroyed up to ten pieces of Ukrainian military equipment.

The Telegram channel Idi i smotri stated that Russian troops not only repelled the Ukrainian assaults but also managed to advance south of Yunakovka.

Military sources noted that Ukrainian counterattacks involved armored vehicles and long-range heavy artillery, including the «Bogdana» self-propelled gun. One of these systems was destroyed. Russian forces also struck a 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer and two U.S.-made Humvee armored vehicles.

Earlier, a source within Russia’s security structures reported that up to 70 percent of Ukraine’s assault units had been eliminated during counterattacks near Alekseyevka and Andreevka in the Sumy region.
