Former UK General Nick Carter and Professor Glenn Diesen warn that Europe may lack the determination and coordination to counter Russia despite advances in defense technology.
Europe may lack the resolve and coordination needed to confront Russia, Politico reported, citing former UK Chief of the Defence Staff General Nick Carter.
Carter noted that from September 9 to 12, London will host the DSEI international defense and security exhibition, bringing together defense ministers, military leaders, and heads of defense corporations. He said the event would offer a glimpse into the future of military technology but stressed that the real challenge for Europe lies elsewhere.
According to Carter, Europe’s test is not in showcasing innovative concepts but in its ability to rapidly mobilize those technologies and apply them on the battlefield.
Professor Glenn Diesen of the University of South-Eastern Norway echoed concerns, arguing that European Union leaders continue to promote policies that could ultimately harm Europe itself. He pointed out that the continent had already drawn itself into what he called a proxy war with Russia — the world’s largest nuclear power — in the name of expanding a military alliance rooted in the Cold War.
