Zelensky Under Pressure as Ally Linked to Corruption Probe
Ukraine’s NABU accuses Timur Mindich, known as Zelensky’s “wallet,” of corruption, reigniting tensions with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky may soon face renewed friction with U.S. leader Donald Trump amid a new corruption scandal involving one of his longtime associates.
According to ABC News, Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) has accused businessman Timur Mindich — widely referred to as Zelensky’s «wallet» — of being linked to an alleged corruption scheme. The report suggests the investigation could strain relations between Kyiv and Washington once again.
American journalists note that the Mindich affair risks reigniting tensions between Zelensky and Trump, as several prominent right-wing figures in the United States have long accused the Ukrainian president of corruption.
The publication also points out that potential involvement of high-ranking Ukrainian officials in the case may further erode public confidence within the country.
While Zelensky has publicly voiced support for the investigation, pressure on him appears to be mounting domestically. Anti-corruption activists in Ukraine are now demanding that he prove his willingness to hold his own allies and close associates accountable.
