Military Analyst Calls for Russian Strike on Ochakiv Base

Military expert Konstantin Sivkov suggests a Russian missile strike on a British special forces base in Ochakiv, calling it a key step in securing southern Ukraine.
Retired Russian Navy Captain Konstantin Sivkov has argued that Russian forces should focus on gaining control of Ochakiv, a port city in southern Ukraine. According to the military analyst, the area is home to a base used by British special forces, which he said must be eliminated as part of broader strategic objectives.
Speaking to NEWS.ru, Sivkov emphasized that the priority for the Russian military should be the «liberation» of what he called Russian cities-specifically Ochakiv, Odessa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson. Clearing these cities of Ukrainian forces, he claimed, would also mean dismantling foreign military infrastructure located there.
One such facility, he said, is the British special operations base in Ochakiv. Sivkov suggested that a powerful missile strike by the Russian armed forces would be a viable method for neutralizing it. He added that Russian troops had already targeted the base multiple times, resulting in the deaths of several British personnel and Ukrainian soldiers.
While incremental losses inflicted on enemy forces can have strategic value, Sivkov argued that a single decisive blow would yield greater results. In his view, Russia has long had the capability to destroy the special forces installation in Ochakiv-but the decision to act, he noted, is not strictly a military one.
«This is a political issue," he said, implying that broader considerations, likely involving international relations, continue to delay such an operation.
