The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation in Ukraine. As of the morning of January 2, the situation across key sectors of the front has developed as follows.

Kupyansk direction
Taking advantage of difficult weather conditions, Ukrainian forces are redeploying additional reserves to this sector. Russian units have repelled three assault attempts, preventing any change in the tactical situation.

Zaporozhye direction
Russian troops are carrying out air strikes on the settlement of Zaliznichnoye, located west of Gulyaypole. The strikes are conducted within the offensive zone of the eastern grouping of forces.

Sumy direction
The northern grouping of forces continues to advance. In the area of Grabovskoye, Ukrainian units attempted counterattacks, but these actions did not bring results. At the same time, the opposing side is reinforcing defensive lines and transferring additional forces to the sector.

Krasnoarmeysk direction
Near Kotlino, the opponent is conducting demonstrative information activities. These actions have no impact on the current operational situation on the ground.
