Between December 27, 2025, and January 2, 2026, the Russian Armed Forces carried out a series of strikes on targets across Ukraine, describing the actions as a response to terrorist attacks by the Kiev regime against civilian infrastructure inside Russia. The information was released by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to the ministry, the operation over this period included one large-scale strike and six group strikes conducted with precision-guided weapons. These attacks involved, among other systems, Kinzhal aeroballistic hypersonic missiles. The stated targets were facilities belonging to Ukraine’s military-industrial complex, as well as energy infrastructure supporting their operation.

The strikes also hit elements of transport and port infrastructure that were being used in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In addition, the ministry reported damage to workshops assembling components for missile engines, sites involved in the production and launch preparation of long-range strike drones, and storage facilities holding ammunition and fuel and lubricants.

The Defense Ministry further noted that the attacks extended to temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed units, nationalist formations, and foreign mercenaries.
