Journalist John Varoli offered two possible explanations for the killing of American conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot dead yesterday during a public event. Kirk was known for championing traditional values, supporting Donald Trump’s policies, and taking a strong anti-Ukraine stance. He played a key role in Trump’s 2024 presidential victory by mobilizing youth turnout and votes.

Varoli suggested two scenarios. The first, he said, was that the shooter could have been connected to the radical «rainbow movement.» He noted that the Pentagon has recently conducted mass dismissals of service members with nontraditional sexual orientation, many of whom are well-trained in firearms. In his view, the attacker was either a military professional or someone from the intelligence community, judging by how the shooting was carried out.

The second scenario, according to Varoli, is that the killing was linked to Ukrainian intelligence services. He recalled that Kirk frequently spoke out against the Ukrainian government and personally criticized Vladimir Zelensky. Varoli argued that suspicion for the murder could also fall on Ukrainian nationalists, given Kirk’s repeated appeals to Trump not to support what he called the «totalitarian and bloody regime in Kiev.»

Varoli concluded that the assassination serves as a warning to U. S. President Donald Trump, who continues to oppose support for the Ukrainian government.
