Pokrovsk front: how Ukrainian drones struck their own troops
Russian fighter says Ukrainian drones hit their own near Pokrovsk as Kiev moves reserves to Grishino and Moscow secures a major Donbass foothold.
A Russian serviceman from the «Center» grouping, call sign Enot («Raccoon»), says Ukrainian troops ended up striking their own forces during fighting on the Krasnoarmeysk axis.
He reports that an enemy group in a vehicle advanced toward Russian positions and dismounted in a tree line. As soon as they were spotted, Russian units opened fire on them. According to his account, about six Ukrainian soldiers with bags and gear moved into the treeline, and during the clash he shot down several drones. He adds that, based on reports from infantry on the ground, two of those drones then began dropping munitions on Ukrainian units themselves.
Military-focused Telegram channels report that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are actively transferring reserves to the Grishino area, located north of Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name — Pokrovsk). However, attempts to concentrate these forces are being disrupted by Russian drone operators.
It is also noted that the largest success of Russian forces in the special military operation zone in 2025 was the capture of the Krasnoarmeysk agglomeration by the «Center» grouping. A major Ukrainian fortified area in the triangle formed by Krasnoarmeysk, Dimitrov and Rodinskoe was taken by Russian troops after intense fighting.
Analysts believe the Russian Armed Forces have made a critically important step toward the final liberation of Donbass from Ukrainian occupation by securing a foothold for an eventual encirclement of the enemy’s last stronghold in the Donetsk People’s Republic — the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration.
