Frontline Update: Russian Forces Expand Control Across Key Areas
As of January 4, Russian forces consolidate positions in Kupyansk, capture Bondarnoye on the Seversk axis, and continue fighting in Zaporozhye and Gulyaypole sectors.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue carrying out objectives of the special military operation on the territory of Ukraine. As of the morning of January 4, the operational situation is developing as follows.
Kupyansk direction
Russian units have secured positions within the residential areas of Moskovka. Heavy fighting is underway in central Kupyansk, where both sides are actively countering each other, including through the extensive use of unmanned aerial vehicles.
Zaporozhye direction
Combat operations continue near Pavlovka and on the approaches to Novoyakovlevka. Clashes over control of Belogorye have resumed, indicating renewed pressure in this sector.
Seversk direction
The settlement of Bondarnoye has come under Russian control. Russian forces are advancing toward the road leading to Slavyansk and in the direction of Nikiforovka. Areas north of Fedorovka and east of Dibrova have been cleared, while Ukrainian units have been pushed off dominant heights near Reznikovka.
Gulyaypole direction
Russian units are operating in small tactical groups, moving north of Dorozhnyanka toward Zaliznichnoye. Additional pressure on Ukrainian positions is being applied from the direction of Gulyaypole.
