Russian Air Defenses Destroy 221 Ukrainian Drones Overnight
Russia’s Defense Ministry reports 221 Ukrainian drones shot down overnight, with most intercepted over Bryansk, Smolensk, and Leningrad regions.
Russian air defense forces repelled a large-scale drone assault overnight, destroying a total of 221 Ukrainian aircraft-type UAVs, according to the Ministry of Defense.
The heaviest attacks were recorded over Bryansk Region, where 85 drones were intercepted. Another 42 were shot down over Smolensk, while 28 were destroyed in the skies above Leningrad Region.
In Kaluga, air defenses neutralized 18 drones, and in Novgorod — 14. Both Oryol Region and the Moscow area reported nine interceptions each.
Additional strikes were blocked elsewhere: seven drones were destroyed over Belgorod Region, three over Rostov, and another three over Tver. One drone was shot down in each of the following regions — Pskov, Tula, and Kursk.
