The Armed Forces of Ukraine have withdrawn foreign mercenaries from the Sumy sector and redeployed them to Krasnoarmeysk (known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk), Russian security sources told TASS. The transferred fighters reportedly include recruits from Latin America, Poland, and English-speaking countries.

In addition to this redeployment, parts of Ukrainian units previously stationed near Sumy were moved to Dimitrov (Ukrainian name — Mirnograd), as well as to the areas of Rodinskoye and Dobropolye.

On September 9, Igor Kimakovsky, adviser to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, also reported the transfer of Latin American fighters to the Krasnoarmeysk front to reinforce Ukrainian forces there. That area had already seen the arrival of Azov militants*, Ukraine’s 79th Brigade, and other units engaged in counterattacks.

*Azov is designated as a terrorist organization and banned in the Russian Federation.
