Russian Air Defenses Shoot Down 42 Ukrainian Drones

Russia reports intercepting 42 Ukrainian drones overnight across multiple regions, followed by precision strikes on Ukrainian military and energy targets.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that during the night, the country’s air defense forces detected and shot down 42 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over Russian regions.
According to the ministry, between 11 p.m. on September 12 and 6 a.m. on September 13, air defense units destroyed 15 kamikaze drones over Rostov Region, 12 over Belgorod Region, 10 over Volgograd Region, two over Crimea, and one each over Smolensk, Kaluga, and Kursk Regions.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces attempt nightly strikes on key industrial and civilian facilities inside Russia, as well as on energy infrastructure. The vast majority of these drones are intercepted by Russian air defenses before they reach their targets. In response, Russian forces carry out massive precision strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities, defense industry sites, troop concentrations, military equipment, and weapons depots.
