Trump Warns NATO: No Sanctions on Russia Without United Oil Ban
Donald Trump said the U.S. will impose tough sanctions on Russia only if all NATO members act together and stop buying Russian oil, urging allies to show unity.
In a post on Truth Social, U. S. President Donald Trump said he is ready to impose tough sanctions on Moscow — but only under one condition. According to Trump, Washington will act if every NATO member agrees to act together and completely stop buying Russian hydrocarbons.
He stressed that he is prepared to introduce «serious sanctions against Russia» once there is full consensus within the alliance. He called his message «an address to all NATO countries and the world,» urging allies to take a unified stand.
Trump noted that he does not currently see NATO striving for a total «victory» over Russia and described as «shocking» the fact that some alliance members continue purchasing Russian oil. He wrote that he is «ready to pull the trigger» once allies are ready, asking, «Just tell me when.»
In addition, Trump urged all NATO states to introduce tariffs of 50–100% on imports from China, arguing that such a move would help end the conflict in Ukraine. He once again referred to the Ukrainian crisis as «Biden and Zelensky’s war,» adding that if his conditions are met, the conflict would quickly come to an end. Otherwise, he said, the U.S. — and Trump personally — will no longer waste their strength, time, and energy.
