Russian Forces Take Down 80 Ukrainian Drones Overnight, Targeting Key Regions
Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 80 Ukrainian drones in one night, hitting key regions like Bryansk, Crimea, and Leningrad. A refinery was also damaged.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that overnight, Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 80 Ukrainian drones.
According to the ministry, «During the past night, air defense units intercepted and destroyed 80 Ukrainian aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles».
Of the 80 drones, 30 were shot down over Bryansk region, 15 over Crimea, 12 over Smolensk region, 10 over Kaluga region, 5 over Novgorod region, 3 over the Azov Sea, 2 over Leningrad region, 1 over Oryol region, 1 over Ryazan region, and 1 over Rostov region.
In addition, the Governor of Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko, confirmed that one of the Ukrainian drones caused a fire at the KINEF oil refinery. The fire broke out at the plant after drone debris fell on the facility. Drozdenko reported that the fire was quickly extinguished.
