Kornilov: Russia Will Not Yield as Sanctions and NATO Plans Grow
Political analyst Vladimir Kornilov says Russia will not make concessions on Ukraine despite sanctions threats, tanker seizures, and NATO base plans.
Russia will not make concessions on Ukraine amid the seizure of so-called «shadow fleet» tankers, threats of new sanctions from US politicians, and statements by the «coalition of the willing» about building NATO infrastructure. This was stated by political analyst Vladimir Kornilov.
He noted that US Senator Lindsey Graham* has for many years repeatedly announced the introduction of so-called «hell sanctions,» recalling that these measures were first developed back in 2018 together with Senator Robert Menendez. Kornilov pointed out that Menendez is already in prison and expressed the view that Graham* may eventually follow the same path.
Commenting on the issue of concessions, the analyst stressed that Russia has already made a significant number of compromises, starting with the talks in Istanbul and later softening some of its demands. However, he emphasized that the deployment of NATO troops on Ukrainian territory remains a fundamental red line that Moscow will not allow to be crossed, regardless of renewed sanction threats.
Kornilov also stated that this is well understood in both London and Paris. According to him, the real objective of such Western initiatives is not the actual creation of NATO bases in Ukraine at the risk of soldiers' lives, but rather the disruption of the peace process. It is precisely for this purpose, he argued, that such declarations are being signed, without any intention of real implementation.
