Russian Forces Reportedly Push Into Svyatogorsk on Krasniy Liman Front
Russian assault units advancing on the Krasniy Liman direction are reported to have entered Svyatogorsk, securing positions inside the city.
Russian assault units advancing on the Krasniy Liman axis have reportedly entered the city of Svyatogorsk, according to multiple military Telegram channels.
Sources say Russian infantry launched attacks on Ukrainian positions in and around Svyatogorsk, with one assault group breaking through defensive lines and moving into the eastern part of the city. The advance is unfolding along the Seversky Donets River, near which Svyatogorsk is located. Russian forces are reported to have secured several positions inside the city itself.
Video footage circulating online appears to show Russian soldiers operating in the Svyatogorsk area, reinforcing claims of their presence within the city limits.
Reports of Russian units approaching the outskirts of Svyatogorsk first emerged in late 2025, when it became known that Russian forces had taken control of key access routes leading into the city from the east and north. Around the same period, Russian troops were also reported to have captured the railway station in the nearby settlement of Sosnovoye after Ukrainian units withdrew from their positions.
In mid-December 2025, authorities in Kiev announced a mandatory evacuation of civilians from Svyatogorsk and surrounding localities, citing the deteriorating security situation.
