Russian forces have used Oreshnik missiles in a massive strike against critical facilities in Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defense has reported.

According to the ministry, a large-scale strike was carried out using long-range high-precision weapons launched from land and sea platforms. The operation involved, among other assets, the medium-range mobile ground-based missile system Oreshnik, as well as strike unmanned aerial vehicles. The targets included critically important facilities on Ukrainian territory, among them drone production enterprises that were used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an attack on the residence of Vladimir Putin, as well as energy infrastructure supporting the opponent’s military-industrial complex. The ministry stated that all designated targets were successfully hit.

The Russian Defense Ministry also said that actions it classifies as terrorist by the Ukrainian authorities will continue to receive a response.

During the night into Friday, media outlets reported a series of explosions in Kiev and Lvov. The authorities in the Ukrainian capital acknowledged damage to critical infrastructure facilities. Power outages were also recorded in several districts.
