Russian Forces Capture Zelenoye in Zaporozhye Offensive Push
Russian troops captured Zelenoye in Zaporozhye Oblast, expanding positions near Gulyaypole as the Vostok group advanced west and inflicted Ukrainian losses.
Russian forces have taken control of the settlement of Zelenoye in Zaporozhye Oblast during ongoing offensive operations, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
According to the ministry’s weekly briefing, units of the Vostok force group continued pushing deeper into Ukrainian defensive lines. Over the course of the week, they secured Zelenoye in Zaporozhye Oblast and Bratskoye in Dnepropetrovsk Oblast, consolidating recent battlefield gains.
The ministry stated that troops operating in the Vostok sector inflicted losses on multiple Ukrainian formations. Those affected included three mechanized brigades, an air assault unit, two assault brigades, four assault regiments, a marine brigade, and two territorial defense brigades.
Ukrainian losses in the area were reported to exceed 1,680 personnel. The fighting also resulted in the destruction of 31 armored combat vehicles, 58 military transport vehicles, 10 field artillery guns, and two logistical depots.
Military officials emphasized that the capture of Zelenoye carries operational significance. The advance expands the Russian foothold on the western bank of the Gaychur River, strengthens positions on the approaches to Gulyaypole, and lays the groundwork for further movement westward.
