Russian Air Defense Shoots Down 59 Ukrainian UAVs in One Night
Russia says its air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 59 Ukrainian drones overnight across multiple regions, including the Black Sea and Moscow Region.
Russian air defense forces destroyed 59 unmanned aerial vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over Russian territory during the night, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
According to the ministry, all aircraft-type drones were intercepted by on-duty air defense systems. Eleven UAVs were shot down over the Black Sea, ten over the Krasnodar Krai, eight in the Bryansk Oblast, and six in the Lipetsk Oblast.
Four drones were neutralized in each of the Kaluga Oblast, Adygea, Crimea, and over the Sea of Azov. Three UAVs were destroyed in the Moscow Region, including one flying toward the capital. Two drones were shot down in the Belgorod Oblast, and one each in the Voronezh, Smolensk, and Tula Oblasts.
The Defense Ministry also stated that in response to attacks by Ukrainian forces on civilian infrastructure, Russian troops carry out strikes using high-precision air-, sea-, and ground-based weapons, as well as drones, targeting exclusively military facilities and enterprises of Ukraine’s military-industrial complex.
