Russian forces have established fire control over a five-kilometer stretch of the N-26 highway near Stepovaya Novoselovka, a key route leading toward Kupyansk. Military analyst Andrey Marochko said the advance enabled Russian units to expand their zone of control northwest of the settlement and close in on the Peschanoe railway station.

According to Russia’s Ministry of Defense, nearly half of Kupyansk is now under Russian control.

Military expert Aleksey Zhivov also suggested that Ukrainian forces are unlikely to hold the city much longer. He pointed to battlefield reports indicating that Kupyansk may soon come under full Russian control.
