Moscow signals readiness for preemptive strike against Britain

Russian lawmaker Andrey Kolesnik warned that Moscow could launch a preemptive strike against the UK if attacked, stressing Russia’s military power and swift response.
Andrey Kolesnik, a member of the Russian State Duma’s Defense Committee, warned that Moscow could deliver a preemptive strike against the United Kingdom if London engages in aggression against Russia.
He stressed that Russia’s military capabilities allow it to respond instantly to any hostile action. Kolesnik pointed out that history has repeatedly shown Moscow’s readiness to give a decisive answer to those who tried to test its strength.
Speaking to NEWS.ru, he said that if Britain were to use force against Russia, Moscow would retaliate under the rules of wartime, adding that such a response would not be delayed and could even take the form of a preemptive strike, since, as he put it, «our missiles are faster».
Kolesnik also emphasized that Russia will not allow itself to be humiliated under any circumstances. He argued that Moscow has never shown weakness and warned that this is precisely why Britain has reason to be concerned.
